They widened the bid ask to a ridiculous spread again which very effectively has the effect of halting trading just when it was getting interesting with a relatively strong volume push.

I think the MMs were expecting a reasonable pullback and they got caught with their pants down as the rally got some legs...so they immediately doused it before things got out of hand for them. Had they not done that we may have seen a million volume. But then again, the day is not over yet.
