I'm just a little confused here, up until 1964 silver coinage and silver certificates were used in the US. you took your dime to the store and got candy and it was a lot more candy than a dime will get you today. I still remember when they started charging tax on candy in Washington state, I was floored that ten cents in candy would now cost me 11 cents big smile do you remember silver money? 100 years ago it was gold and silver coinage.

And a silver certificate were good for physical delivery upon demand!
