Value creation for shareholders is best measured by share price. Walgreens performance has been stellar over the last several FY's. It recently set a new 52 week high, followed by an all time high.

Walgreens customer traffic and margins outperform its competitive peer group. Alliance-Boots margin % is higher in an apples vs. oranges comparison because the European market is fragmented and has less reimbursement reduction pressure and diminished discounter influence like Walmart inflicts on US retail drug chains.

Hedge funds are NEVER satisfied unless they squeeze 100% of the life and value out of any company they attempt to reform via "activism" which many translate as "eating their young."

Walgreens is an outstanding, iconic American brand that deserves respect, admiration and investor enthusiasm.
