My understanding is that ADTs are no less addictive than non-ADTs for patients. It's just that one can't get high from ADTs--which matters to addicts but not to ordinary patients who are just seeking relief from physical pain. So, why would doctors be motivated to switch from the meds they have been prescribing for a long time and which they know well?
