Intelligent Highway Solutions Ships to Customer Canada

Intelligent Highway Solutions Inc., a technology based electrical contracting company that develops and implements high and low voltage solutions across multiple platforms, recently announced the shipment of its proprietary lighting solutions to FV Pharma of Canada for use in growing medical marijuana under the country’s newly implemented MMPR program.

“We are pleased that the medical marijuana growers are beginning to recognize the value of our lights that have wide-ranging applications for all indoor growers of medical marijuana,” said Intelligent Highway Solutions Inc. CEO Devon Jones.

According to a prior press release, the company’s SSD Full Spectrum lighting solutions use approximately 85% less energy than the sodium and metal halide HID lamps and provides more than 400% of the required energy in the proper wavelengths for photosynthesis versus HID lamps. Marijuana growers could therefore benefit from both lower costs and higher yields.

The marijuana plant is a photoperiod plant that can be triggered into flowering or a premature end to its vegetative state by reducing the amount of light hours to less than 12 during the day. As long as there are less than 12 hours of darkness, marijuana growers can trick the plant into remaining in a vegetative state resulting in a healthier, larger plant with better yield, according to the company.

“We are excited to have received and start testing this new state-of-the-art lighting system as well as potentially outfit our new facility with this new technology,” said FV Pharma CEO Thomas Fairhill. “These new lights could allow us to save on energy and significantly reduce the overall costs of our operations.”
