If the word scam is reserved for the way the stock market works, I am a little more comfortable with that. I still think comparing the shenanigans that happen in the OTC market and pinkies is nothing like what happens in the big boards. Maybe it is all a matter of scale.
But to bring this full circle, I really don't like to see con-men promoting worthless desert to the gullible and naïve, claiming that they have viable exploration targets. That's the level I am approaching this, and just would like to see some truth injected into the picture.
It is not always a victimless crime, despite what you may think. In addition to screwing the naïve dreamers out there (too bad for them, I guess), I personally know of several substantial environmental messes caused by scammers mucking around old minesites, and then disappearing into the night. Taxpayers pick up the tab at that point, and that should irritate everyone that pays their taxes.
