Evercore affirms Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) at Overweight with a target price of $48 after taking a recent look at the company's Q2 progression.

Analyst Ken Sena is looking for domestic user growth and two major product announcements having a positive impact on expected Q2 results.

User growth: We see a strong possibility for user growth acceleration domestically to 20% (vs. 19% in 1Q) based on easing growth comparisons as well as incremental engagement from the World Cup in June. On an absolute basis, we expect TWTR to add about two million users domestically this quarter on a sequential basis, down from three million last quarter. We note that consensus estimates are for only 18% growth, or one million incremental users, and TWTR has yet to add less than one million users domestically in a quarter since at least the beginning of 2012. Overall, we believe this means that the Street’s 21% user growth globally represents a relatively low bar. Generally positive traffic trends also help support this notion.

New products: We see two major product announcements this quarter as potentially having an immediate impact to the company’s monetization: app install ads and expanded MoPub capabilities within the TWTR ad buying platform. On the app install ads, if the company has even modest success this quarter, which we would define as about 5% of ad rev (compared to our estimate that this format drives more than 20% of FB's mobile ad rev), this would boost TWTR’s ad revenue growth by 1,000 bps above our new est (and consensus) to 118%.
