Don't feel it goes nearly far enough. Why should defendants be awarded 10% dividends when the whole conservatorship was illegal from the get-go? Why should defendants be awarded ANYTHING AT ALL? Defendants should be paying the GSE's, taxpayers/investors for damages THEY CAUSED. The GSE's were FORCED to take the unnecessary bailout money and subsequently FORCED into an unnecessary conservatorship. Furthermore, the GSE's were not at fault in the crisis, were FORCED by HUD to comply with unwanted affordable housing goals thereby placing them in direct competition with FHA. HUD/FHA have been tasked with affordable housing goals, NOT THE GSE's. Gov was effectively running the GSE's long before conservatorship. GSE's had little to say in the matter.
