My wife and I attended the court hearing before Judge Otis Wright on June 18th RE: MMR and all defendants (Quest, Allscripts, Webmd). The following is our personal observations what took place in the courtroom. Prior to making any presentations Judge Wright asked all parties to keep the technical explanations as simple and understandable as much as possible.
1. There were about 10-12 attorneys present with MMR having two
2. MMR and all defendants each spent 30-45 minutes explaining their positions.
3. MMR’s attorney spent about 15-20 minutes and RL about 20-30 minutes explaining the products, inventions and patents.
4. In our opinion we felt MMR made an excellent presentation with Judge Wright asking several pointed questions about MMR’s patents and how the product works for the patient. MMR and BL answered all of Judge Wright’s questions without hesitation and made some good points.
5. It seemed Judge Wright was engaged and especially impressed how several medical doctors/medical facilities all could access a patients health records...all in one single source from anywhere.
6. The Judge seemed to be equally impressed with the “emergency” feature built into the MMR product. Most folks don’t realize how important this feature is. There is an emergency notification sticker on the back of each member’s driver license card to access a patient's health records in case of an emergency.
7. MMR presented numerous “slides” making the explanation of the patents and how the MMR products work.
8. The defendant’s presentation was rather boring and did not address issues brought up by MMR. In fact, at one point in their presentation it got so boring even the defendant’s own attorney asked Judge Wright “have I lost you”? The attorney proceeded to complete his presentation.

Both my wife and I left the courtroom soon after the hearing and went to lunch to discuss what we had observed. We were more than pleased and felt MMR is in a good position to proceed with their suits and hopefully some settlements. During MMR’s presentation BL made a comment to the Judge that the MMR product will be in major drug chains very soon. Overall A Very Good Day for MMR !!
