I think there's a bit of a leap in your logic in reaching that conclusion.

In any case, I think the real PnD'S are not known for contacting known existing shareholders.

Bear in mind not all who called into the CC were or are shareholders. There are those who called in out of interest. I believe the essence of these calls is not so much to get existing holders to buy more but rather to get those who were interested enough to call into the CC to consider buying at what may be a good time to do so.
