The real hidden value in LVLT is its empty conduits in the ground. When the Level 3 fiber optic network was initially constructed they were banking on huge demand for fiber and an eventual bandwidth shortage. So, LVLT dropped 7-8 conduits in the ground over the entire network, with the idea that only those conduits which were initially needed would have lit fiber. In other words, many may not remember that LVLT has huge untapped fiber capacity which can be provisioned and lit over time as needed, without having to back and painstakingly put it in the ground through lengthy construction.

IN short, if there ever is a bandwidth shortage ,LVLT will be sitting in the cat bird seat and in position to cash in huge to meet the demand as folks scramble for capacity. Not saying that will happen soon, or ever, but if it does LVLT will go to the moon.
