It isn't about making money off of the newbies. It is about the economy of the stock. It is about the ebb and flow of the price. You buy some today and sell it in 3 or 4 days for a little profit. Sometimes you lose money, but if it flows up and down instead of being stomped in to the ground, there is a chance for everybody to win or lose based on their own decisions.

What is happening here is the equivalent of buying a house and having your neighbor turn their property in to a pig farm. It destroys the value of your home. It doesn't matter what does or doesn't take place in your house, you can put new siding on and a new roof, but if you live next to a pig farmer, you aren't going to get any money out of your home if you want to sell.

It is relentlessly degrading any value that the stock has or gets. It takes away value as soon as it gets some. There is no way to build more value on previous value because it is trashed out as soon as good news comes.

The stock is being killed by constant bombardment of negativity. Why wouldn't the company decide to do unethical things to protect their investment if every attempt at moving forward is met with degradation. The stock becomes like a whipped dog. Nothing they do is accepted. The best thing is to cower in a corner in hopes that the constant bombardment of insults will end, turning at the last minute, in a moment of self preservation, and doing whatever it takes to get enough money to survive another year.

I grew up with a step father like that. No matter how hard you tried, he was right there to put you down and to do whatever was needed to crush your will. There really isn't much difference

GARG is what it is, but it never had a chance.
