well, the 275 are in addition to the Marines already protecting the compound. and the 5,500 person contract security force hired in 2011 (named Triple Canopy and Global Strategies Corp)

the 275 are merely window dressing in the wake of Benghazi.

many of the embassy personnel have already left Baghdad for other locations, and a large contingent of american aircraft are on standby alert to extract the rest of our folks if need be.

again, they are not an assault force, they are defensive security and the compound is designed for this contingency. A repeat of Benghazi will not be allowed. the american military and contractors will not lay down their arms like the iraqis. The strategists will not cause this to be another alamo. The perimeter wall of the compound is reinforced blast-proof walls, anyone approaching it would be shredded. The buildings inside are also reinforced. If news accounts are to be believed, our force at the embassy there is as large as the whole insurgent army.

If the iraqi president ends up hanging from a meathook, iran would probably become a bigger player but i still believe obama is going to be able to stay out of the conflict but still sabre-rattle enough to appease the chicken hawks. He has a tough line to toe.
