OT: starsshine- I agree with the basic concept of your verses, but let's be clear about one thing. At some point you have to stand up and be willing to defend yourself, your property, and your family. Statements like these can not be taken literally.

I am a christian but scripture must be read and then interpreted for today's society. I treat strangers in need as if they are friends, but if you try to steal from me I will put you in your place. Respect works both ways.
