Just getting the product in stores doesn't mean much. Do you have any idea how many products are out there. Take a look in a large gas station, or Walmart, or Walgreens, or any huge store that carries beverages. Look in the huge grocery stores. They've got zillions of brands. You walk in the long soda isles, and half the stuff on the shelves is gone. You walk in the short specialty drink isle, and they are filled to the brim. It's always that way no matter where you go. And these specialty drinks have endless brands out there. You would at least expect Monster to be down a couple cans. But nope, their section is filled too. Sometimes I wonder how long some of these specialty drinks sit on the shelf. 6 months? With the huge isles of soda, those are sold out in less than a few days on the majority of common brands. Some get restocked every day. And if you watch what people buy in the huge grocery stores and places where a lot of beverages are sold, it is almost always soda, some kind of juice, beer, or liqueur. The market for these specialty drinks isn't very large. And they are more expensive. Excluding places like a lake, or a festival, when is the last time you saw someone buy six cans of these specialty drinks. Or how about even 2. Very rare. If Monster doesn't sell like hotcakes, how are the other brands going to do. It isn't a large market. And it's flooded with tons of brands already. They don't have room on the shelves for even 1 more can. Ever notice how they put some of the specialty drinks in the isles because they have no room on the shelves. And those cases in the isles seem to stay there for eons. It is one nasty market. You can't just get it in a store. You have to sell it. And if you can get it on a shelf or in an isle, you are up against a zillion different brands. And the ones that do sell already have a following of people who drink them. Some because it tastes good, some because it makes them look cool. This is a rough market. Don't think that getting it in a store is a ticket to wealth. You have to sell it. And if you tried it because you are in the stock and like it, that doesn't mean others will try it. Did you try the other ones that you were not in their stock. It's a tough limited market.
