I don't realy expect any crash of the stock market (2001 style, that is), unless some "bad actions" are taken, in which case, yes, it could get even worse. Should the worse happen, the large cap are the ones mostly afected, as the large investors start moving their money elsewhere (bonds, gold, etc.) Good pennies (on average) are the safest investments in bad times, IMO.
The only thing that I expect to crash soon, it's the real estate market, that indeed got overinflated as of late, and it's already giving bad signs. If that's all that happens, this not only will not hurt the market, on contrary it will help it (Most of those real estate investors, in case of a real estate market crash, will invest into the stock market. First, in the big caps, then in the penny.
