I think many could alternatively argue that expecting Uncle to backstop $5+ trillion in mortgages on 56% of the homes in America for GSE's that have few reserves and no ability to handle further, future events such as have recently, already occurred could be considered piracy, too. Especialy when that same Uncle is also providing the liquidity that permits future home sales to take place and avoid another recession, or worse.
