It is intriguing because of two major things. One, APT went back to a 2 stroke design which has virtually been abandoned. Yes it's still used in strict instances, but it has not been advanced any. It's still the same ole 2 stroke. Second, it has forced induction with which is cast into the block, with the driver attached directly. Traditionally, compressors would be exhaust or belt powered, with mass piping or belt drives.
People are going to want to know, why this engine? Show me what this is capable of doing. How durable is it? APT either perfected the 2 stroke to the max or they are on to something. I am absolutely curious. But also very skeptical. This could have been a very expensive endeavor for something that won't be as impressive as we had hoped.
