Yesterday's permit loss was, to say bluntly, a swift kick in the nuts! High hopes shattered, 0fer2.
However, in retrospect, we just didn't have enough 'Nevada' in us for Clark County. They questioned our percentages of ownership. I believe they were not impressed. In the south it's called the "good ol' boy network". We weren't a good ol' boy, especially when it got down to the wire.
The dispensaries are going to be the MMJ welcome mat or storefronts to residents of the state and county and to all the visiting MMJ cardholders from other states. The board wanted your trusted, friendly locals with community ties getting that fame and money. At least for the majority of the dispensaries IMO.
But now comes the cultivation and production of the product. The GMs, Fords and Chryslers now all have to get to the dealers! Who's making the killing here? The dealers or the manufacturers? I've seen plenty of car dealers go out of business, but the big three are still kickin'!
Cultivation and production facilities are in the background. We don't have to be the face for Nevada or Clark County. We just have to supply the faces...all 18 of them in CC alone.
Let's hope we can put on a better face on for the presentation to the board. I don't think Rory Reid is the answer. He's a politician or politician wannanbe that happens to be a lawyer. And as Jeffery Pelt said to Jack Ryan in "The Hunt for Red October"..."Listen, I'm a politician which means I'm a cheat and a liar, and when I'm not kissing babies I'm stealing their lollipops. " But, then again, the commissioners are politicians also. Let's see which ones got lollipops. When politics is involved, there's a lot of grease flowing!
And lastly, we need to defend and promote our position that we are what we are...a publicly traded company seeking a MMJ grow license in the USA! If this is to be an ongoing issue, it needs to nipped in the bud here or it will follow to every other county or state in the nation.
This is just my surmise of what happened this week along with concerns I have.
