$MCGI - Company History

The Beginning
At the end of 2002 in Dallas, Texas, Tim Armes (the founder and CEO of leading job board Jobs.com which sold to Monster.com in 2002) took over the nursing internet portal and nursing job board NursesLounge.com.

Along with the re-launch of the web site, Mr. Armes launched a localized direct mail magazine as a companion to the website and editorially dedicated to reporting on the local nursing profession.

Years of managing a portal and publishing a monthly magazine gave insight to thousands of organizations in need of a more efficient way to communicate important information to nursing professionals such as news, meetings and CE’s on a timely basis.

Beta Launch, Summer of 2009

With this understanding, and the advent of social media technology, Nurses Lounge designed and launched a beta test version of the first truly professional network for nurses in the summer of 2009 designed to streamline the communication needs of the profession.

Built on a powerful web 2.0 platform and literally capable of handling the daily communications needs of every nurse association, nursing school and nurse in the U.S. and beyond, we proved the desire for and acceptance of having a:

* Simplified and streamlined way for nurses to professionally communicate and network with their colleagues.
* Simple but powerful solution for nurse associations to efficiently communicate news, meetings and CE’s to their members.
* Provide nursing schools the ability to bring students, alumni and faculty together in a professional environment while communicating news and information to the nursing profession at-large.

March 2011, Nurses Lounge begins National
Roll-Out via Nursing Schools

With the clear acceptance of our network design and business model, the Nurses Lounge has moved out of the beta phase and formally launched into a build-out phase of operations starting mid March 2011 aimed at Nursing Schools and Associations.
