I remember reading one article a while back that claimed KIMJF was a stalking horse for various O&G and governmental interests in Somalia with the purpose of stirring things up. The allegation was that KIMJF was a tool of big oil and the Somalia Federal Government to halt the regional governments and warlords from granting conflicting O&G licenses to juniors. It is true that Big Oil is coming back to Somalia according to the rumor mill. It is possible the same holds true for the other regions; KIMJF may be cheap insurance for some of these interests. Therefore all may not be as it seems here.
