Odd: stock shot up to $6.17 today but 10-K shows bigger loss

Dramatic price rise today, up $1.17, really starting to run, went from $5.00 to $6.17, thought there was really great news. But late-filing 10-K showed not great profit, but loss much higher than last year's, though loss per share less due to issuing more shares (i.e. dilution). So not not such good news, but price rise was great! Odd, no?
