If you are really serious, absolutely use one of the large multinational professional laboratories such as ALS. It costs a little more (or not - some of the most notorious scam assayers are quite expensive), but the are proven to be competent and have the ability to assay for platinum and rare earths than most of the mom and pop garage or strip mall outfits do not.
