Any and all profits go to the Treasury Department and none to shareholders.Fannie and Freddie should be primarily concerned with repaying taxpayers, since neither would exist today if not for the crisis-era intervention.Fannie and Freddie are still in conservatorship. Investors continue to wait – and hope – for a resolution that doesn't shut them out completely and we all know that will never happen.
