The bottom line is either Anatabine scientifically significantly lowers inflamation, is safe and well tolerated. If that is established this will be a huge medical development and the PPS will surge considerably. If not, the stock PPS completely fails.
We know it,s safe and well tolerated. The only question is does it work. There is lots of clinical data and some human studies that say yes it works.I truly don't understand how or why or if it does. But DR. Mullen can reach a valid decision as to if it works. He tested it at Roskamp with lots of scientists over many years and he obviously believes it works. After 25 years in this arena he did not make this move to Star on a whim.
We now know that there will be a full study presented to the FDA. Star has the money and capability to successfully get thru the IND stage and thru phase 1. That was clearly established at the 3/20 meeting. Obviously they have a financial commitment to continue thru Phase 2. Dr. Mullen did not come to Star after all that testing to get thru Phase 1 and then shop around hoping to continue if he can get funds. That funding is in place.
Would a homeowner apply to the Town for a pool permit, get the approval to build the pool (IND)...then dig a big hole in the yard (Phase 1) and do this without the funds to continue on the hope that he can come up with the funds to finish the pool?
IMO, Dr. Mullen after significant research, with his vast knowledge, firmly concluded that the FDA study can fully be done and will be successful. This is clear. In fact he and Dr.Chapman and others are choosing which disease to target first based on speed, cost and likelyhood of success. On 3/20 Dr. Mullen constantly spoke in the plural. He spoke of applications, INDs, diseases. Now he is either right or wrong. Time will tell. Regardless of the ultimate outcome he believes he is right or he would not be at Star. I don't know if he is right or wrong but given his knowledge, the testing, combined with the backing of 60 scientists at Roskamp, my money is on Dr. Mullen.
