Some people use Technical Analysis and some may use Fundamentals or some only pay attention to momentum. It actually depends on whether you are looking at long term or short term investing. The concept mentioned here is interesting but I have not heard of using Tarot cards or magic 8 balls but I say whatever works for the individual makes sense.

I can not criticize any of the methods another trader might use. As far as I am concerned, the trader puts up their own money and makes their own decisions so it is really none of my business
