James Gaspard
Board of Advisors — Electric Transportation

Mr. James Gaspard II is a Senior Advisor to THiNKGREEN!, where his decades of transportation experience offers our clients insight into highly complex economic and regulatory issues, industry knowledge and engineering expertise involved in funding Clean transportation and smart grid projects. Mr. Gaspard offers a wealth of knowledge on municipal lease finance and specialty financing structures with an emphasis on how hybrid/electric drivetrains and emission reductions technologies impact today's financial markets.

Mr. Gaspard is currently an Executive Vice President of Designline USA, LLC, a leading international designer and manufacturer of buses and hybrid drive train technologies. In this role, Mr. Gaspard spearheaded the company's North American sales initiatives, gaining several of the most premier transit accounts in the United States. He also founded Leading Edge Transport Systems, LLC, a company that was active in introducing new transportation technologies into the North American transportation marketplace and was sold to DesignLine International as part of their expansion into North America.

Previously, Mr. Gaspard held senior executive roles with AirServ Corporation, Champion Bus, and Neoplan USA, where he built backlogs of heavy duty bus orders exceeding $800MM and additionally presented over $200MM of strategic opportunities. He served for six years on the Board of Directors of Trailways Transportation System, Inc., and is an expert, public speaker, and published author on creating new paradigms in the transportation and commercial trucking industries.

Mr. Gaspard received his JD and MBA degrees concurrently from the University of Texas at Austin, serving as the Editor-in-Chief of Texas Journal of Business Law and as an intern for Chief Justice Thomas Phillips and Justice Raul Gonzalez of the Texas Supreme Court. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Texas A & M - Commerce.
