GTE halt - Just formed an opinion.

As stated before, I feel GTE management has been in an executed business plan, to time PRs to hurt shorts. The shorts got friends to open options so they could hedge their short positions, by opening call the day of good news. And exercise them, to cover short position, off market., Keeping run to minimum, because they didn't have to add to the run, by covering in open market.

Better yet, if GTE times their PR the last minute again, they can buy the calls, the close of options day, at the VWAP. $2.5232 at halt. Will be buy price monday. But shorts can get calls after good news, until it's released and halt stops. They are stuck. Can only cover in open market monday, if halt doesn't stop. Halt won't stop until news released.

Halt is implimented by specialist when the company makes them aware of a major PR, which will effect price. The IR dept said PR AM the last day of options. German exchanges close at noon. Halt was 1 hour before. If news was released in America, after the hour, the German exchanges would be left in no mans land. Many new realtionships in europe for GTE.

IMO we will not see PR until close today. No way shorts can hedge good news, europe friends will be equal with american market. Mr. Huff will have timed another last minute PR, which will catch the shorts this time, by taking the option hedge away. A causing short cover in open market monday.

Tin foil hat says. Halt & PR release last minute possible is planned again. Both europe & american markets will start new after week end. And news is positive because it fits into my tin foil hat theory so well.

We'll see. But everything fits.

IMO Not releasing bad news within 1 hour from halt would hurt europe market bad! And not matter concerning the stock price, in US. Basically IMO management would have gotten bad news out before europe market close. Shorts would win any time the release came, but europe would be hurt. So to keep stock on an even plain, bad news would come before europe market close.
