Some sites classify any progressive disease following RRMS as secondary progressive—e.g. WebMD and Wikipedia



And Cleveland Clinic and ... I.e. Pretty sure it is the standard definition, not just the layman's definition. That said, how long you have to have RRMS before the onset of Xxxx Progressive MS is called 'Secondary' is unclear. But probably academic given that either form of XPMS is fairly refractory.

Question to anyone tracking MS... Does anyone know if there is good evidence as to whether current RRMS treatments delay the onset of SPMS? E.g. Has SPMS started at roughly a consistent set of symptoms, or does it now start at a lesser set of symptoms but the same time since initial diagnosis?
