ome Gambling Network, Inc. v. Caribbean Online Ltd., (D. Nev. 2002). Home Gambling Network (HGN) sued Carribean Online seeking an injunction to shut down the Internet casino. HGN owns a patent that covers an electronic betting payment system and claimed that Carribean Online's system infringed on their patent. The Court denied the injunction, and suggested that Carribean Online's system does not violate the patent because winnings are sent to players via check, not electronic transfer.
