Please Google "concrete BSL-2 labs". They aren't pouring just any old slab. They are pouring a slab for chemical and biological containment. Modern BSL-2 safety even requires a nonporous layer over the slab, usually a layer of epoxy-based paint.



Yes, I'm sure it's not just ordinary concrete. Which would mean the contractors chosen should have the expertise not to attempt to pour a specialized slab during inclement weather, if that's actually the reason for the defective installation. There's just no excuse, other than incompetence, for this slab not to have been installed properly the first time. A quick look at the 5 day forecast could have alerted them to any potential weather-related problems.

The walls and roof were completed before the slab was poured, were they not? So temperature is really the only weather-related factor, is it not? Or was there flooding perhaps? What else?
