Wow, such an intellectual reply. At least the navy has people that comprehend steam system design and operation and are qualified to comment on it with vastly more reason and authority.

noun: engine; plural noun: engines
1. (Mechanical Engineering) any machine designed to convert energy, esp heat energy, into mechanical work: a steam engine; a petrol engine.

---Hopefully there weren't too many multisyllable words to follow---

The world, and internet, are full of 'engines' that have a nice spinning shaft but aren't connected to a load and thus never produce work (which is defined as translating force through a distance).

To date the Cyclone offerings haven't been proven to do a very good job of converting energy into mechanical work. They haven't seem to have done that in a public venue. They haven't delivered preproduction models proven to function reliably for even 4% (200 out of 5000) of their required hours.

noun: prod·uct; plural noun: products

1. an article or substance that is manufactured or refined for sale.

Well, if they aren't on the market and are not for sale, they are not a product, are they?

(have to go slow for the mentally challenged)

Moreover, if the item is not competitive in the marketplace due to deficiencies in design, construction or cost it isn't going to be saleable.

(given that the "engines" are based on a mass of unproven ideas, have never been demonstrated in actual real world operation and never been shown by actual sales to have sufficient utility to consumers at a profitable sales price; it is hardly a "product")
