Comb, we saw 12 (or was it 14?) new PNI instructions on some sort of slides. As no other announcements are coming and we have 6 months to release, I would stick with those SSE3 instructions as what it is new there.

I wonder if it is possible to make the support for 32-bit virtual address space for each process to not to share same 32-bit space without any changes in instruction set? As I recall from many years ago x86 cpu reads all memory segment information from memory as a memory translation table. It should be possible to make the superset of this table format to include 40- or 48-bit physical address space. Doesn't look like a big deal for software support. If MS already has those specs under NDA they will do it in 6 months timeframe. Linux folks will need at least 4 months to get hands on. So let wait for PNI in July.
