This guy, Kim is always ahead of the game.

Discovering that this is a reality over the weekend was incredible. It is going to take quite a PR to trump this nugget. We designed a fiber.....beyond the physical, mechanical, and chemical properties of natural spider silk. It is done. Just how far beyond these properties, is a question worth knowing. Given that it is spooled, means this is in the hands of scientists processing the fiber with metallic ion bombardment. I would guess they are also trying to incorporate antibiotics within the fiber too. Did anyone read if it was via gene manipulation or an external process like the metallic ion bombardment? I missed that. I think I remember that is a gene thing.

And it was all accomplished with no R&D division. There are a whole lot of incredible accomplishments around our silkworms. I am now sitting back and watching some comparatively small people try to diminish what has been done. The cat is out of the bag, and it's a multiple billion dollar bag!!!!!! It is nothing short of amazing.

I am wondering if the government put the kibosh on Big Red, though it sounds like it is going to be released eventually. I have to think it is a "when" and not an "if."
