LOL....I've had that chefs jacket for years. I usually bring it out when I'm cooking a holiday dinner or a special function for my wife. I wore it because the women in the kitchen have been after me to wear an apron. I hate aprons. One day I'll wear the hat too. Should give them a laugh.
I'll probably cook for them twice a month. The first Friday of the month is always roast beef and the mid month dinner is a random menu that varies with what's on special. I'll be working with chicken for this one.
This legions main problem isn't the menu, but the quality of the food. The roast chewed like shoe leather and most of the sides came out of a can. If I got food like it from a restaurant, they'd only get my business once.
They need income from the meals to survive and the dinners have been poorly done. Numbers have declined and my little project will be to bring them back up and control the costs. I told the legion prez I'd help out and turn it around. With 2 meals down, all the feed back has been positive.
Hell, with the business gone, I've got little else to do. I may as well use my culinary training and do some good in the community. It helps that the beers cheap there too.
Remember........ It's better to wish you had bought a
stock, than to wish you hadn't.
