I'm with ya on the volume side I things. But as someone who is invested in the company I care, these things help reassure me and likely others who have money here.

Do they matter in terms of getting new investors, increase in the price, volume up, or a buyout underway.... Probably not??

For just me, they are sometimes enough for me to increase my position in the company.
