Have any of you ever mined gold in the high north? I have. In the winter the ground is so froze you can’t mine at all, only dynamite will loosen even gravel. In the old days, before the Internet, you could buy a gold company stock in the winter and sell in the summer and make money with almost zero risk. I have mined gold in Alaska and can tell you for sure that mining in the winter is very very expensive. I am guessing that they are very busy trying to be sure to make the best of the summer approaching. In Alaska we could only mine 3 months of the year unless we mined under the frozen tundra in the winter and then waited till summer for it to thaw so we could remove the gold. If you are here for a short term gain, you might be better off in a gold company closer to the equator. I am very long here, but also I own very few shares, just 10,000.
