Not much has been expressed about APT's game changing SonicFlow™ 2-cycle engine, which is destined to change the way engines run today.

The clean-sheet SonicFlow 2-Cycle engine is currently under development as a fixed RPM generator power-plant. The SonicFlow 2-Cycle engine will be introduced into our product line prepared to establish itself as an engine system unrivaled in the power sports and utility industry. The engine family was initially designed for the domestic market expanding into all small engine applications – outdoor products, generators, hybrid power plants, etc. and our potential for this engine family outside North America is significantly greater. The simplicity and low production cost of these engines have extensive applications in developing nations where stationary and fixed power plants are needed and where tens of millions of scooters and motorcycles are produced every year.

APT is working on an internal combustion engine, which could play a role in outer space exploration. Exploring craters represents a huge engineering challenge for lunar polar exploration rovers (LPERs) designed to operate in permanently shadowed regions of the Moon. But these LPERs can only handle slopes of 15° to 20° - they're not zero-radius compatible. The SonicFlow™ 2-cycle engine being developed by American Performance Technology. The advantages of this unique design are several: (1) zero oil consumption; (2) three times the power of similarly sized 4-stroke engines; (3) high power density (~170 W/cm3); (4) best in class torque output; (5) internal noise attenuation to reduce vibration; (6) 40% thermal efficiency.
