DARBES, should Intel introduce an alternative x86-64 (if Yamhill isn't AMD64) then you can bet your bottom dollar that there will be a Microsoft OS available for it, very close to introduction. AMD would have a nice lead with Linux, though.

There has been a persistent rumor that Microsoft has been lobbying Intel to adopt AMD64 so that they don't have to support competing architectures, but Microsoft will do what they have to do to support the popular processors in the end.
