The advantage is the Trademark product. They cant just jump in with more cards without some form of royalty. That's the advantage of getting things patented. We can technically take our time, not that i advise that course of action of course.

Look at the tech sector. Every phone that HTC sold came with a royalty to Apple because they stole some things from their designs.
