Many of their weapons systems are 1st class, though not having a huge spare parts backup. Russia has combat philosophy of gauging their weapons will not last beyond 10500 hours of direct combat exposure . . and we instead built ours to last for decades. Germany made our mistake in WWII . . . built fine polished tanks, etc. Russia built rugged, basic T-34 tank and lots of them.

China and all other nations trying to buy and store PMs to eventually sink USA $ and Euro, and as counter-tactic to offset their $ debt holdings risk. Russia drops some of their gold on the world market, sells Iran new high tech SAM systems, sells some of their USA T-Bills repeataedly, and USA and EU and Japan will feel the pinch. Small investors will panic. No one will win, but all will lose somewhat and push world directly into another recession.
Russia does not have to directly invade eastern Ukraine . . . just send in Special Forces to train and ambush Kiev forces (which have to be supplied from outside of Eastern Ukraine. Same problem USA had and has in Afgan Conflict. Russia supplies are right next door.
USA economy keeps faultering slowly down-ward . . . consumer demand for PMs (even as wareables) goes down . . . food and lites and gas and medical becomes more important.
We may see heating oil and petro dropping into fall season in USA, in attempt to primp our economy. That's about all the Congress will 'give' us, even in an election by-year.
Personally, hold some HL, yet not sure USA economy is going to help our commodity company up in price.
