You don't need a science background to run this type of company. All you need to do is employ someone who does, or most likely buy unbranded product from third party's (most likely what they're doing and negotiating deals for here)which you then have branded with your own items.

I could start a company doing the same as long as I followed all regulatory requirements. Why even you could!
