... went looking for a Yahoo category on California power, tripped across that

California was not a 'privatisation' but a 'deregulation' pretty much entirely, eh ... here it would be privatisation, and a huge political question in a polarised province that swings back and forth between extremes ... well, that's not quite true - it's actually fairly consistent - we kick the buggers out periodically, regardless of race, creed, gender, and shoe size.
