Some guys getting mixed up in semantics… If the stock is climbing and somebody who wants more shares is slapping the ask and I put a sell order at the ask and it gets slapped and I've sold at the ask and that person who bought has bought at the ask. since it occurred at the ask, it is considered a buy...

On the other hand, if I want to whack the bid and sell my position quickly… My sell at the bid is registered as a sell and the person who bought it, bought it at the bid. A buy and a sell occurred at this level but is recorded as a sell because it happened at the bid…

So, if the majority of the trades were recorded as buys… That means that most of them occurred at the ask which is a bullish sign… People were willing to pay the ask for people selling at the ask more often than the opposite.
