Judo: Unfortunately it is not possible for consumers to try out the Odyssey 1000 since it is only available online from e.Digital. IMO, this is a major drawback, especially since the company charges a 15% restocking fee plus postage to return it if one is dissatisfied with it. Based on the poor reviews of late, it doesn't sound like a top-quality product.

The only reason I was able to experience the iPod was that someone was using it on the plane next to me and let me listen to it. It's the only MP3 player I have ever listened to.
