People here seem to lack the imagination required to see this scenario playing out over several years. The dollars going into mobile software development are enormous and there is a serious crowding-out effect for PC developers.



Yep.

The whole "real work" argument is hilariously short-sighted. It reminds me of 2010, when I first joined this board. I made an argument that the tablet was going disrupt Intel - the reaction was similar.



I agree. I think the problem is that some the people on this board who think smartphones are just toys don't actually own a smartphone.

Today's iPhone 5s has more CPU/GPU horsepower than some Bay Trail-M notebooks.

Intel's time is nearly up...it needs to be in all of these devices and it needs to be the unequivocal leader in these device. Intel claims it has better architecture and better process...it's time they delivered in a way that generates shareholder return.
