That'd be good enough for demoing for most startups. It would be difficult for NTEK, whose shows have a very high level of polish and pizzazz, to go back and start showing a very raw prototype, but the improvement in image quality at relatively low bitrates might make it worthwhile.
And, of course, there's no reason for that to have to be NTEK at all. Anybody can build that box. It's not like UltraFlix has any films to show.
And a new company coming out of the gate with something like that, probably not streamed, but likelier in Blu-Ray data-disk form, wouldn't have all of NTEK's baggage.
And NTEK's got enough baggage to fill all the carousels at JFK.
