Loprinzi reported RESULTS!!!
I was momentarily blinded when I read that the study results were actually available:
"clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/results/NCT01290224?term=loprinzi&rank=38§=X0125#all"
Okay, now let's see if I can interpret these.
Hmmmmm..."participant flow":
"STARTED 10 COMPLETED 5 NOT COMPLETED 5
Adverse Event 1
Refused Further Treatment 4"
Oooooooookay! So the study LOST HALF of its participants???? FORTY per cent REFUSED???? Another TEN per cent were lost due to an ADVERSE EFFECT????
Hoo-boy! Not exactly off to a blazing start, huh?
Then comes, "Percentage of Patients Who Have at Least a 50% Reduction":
"Sham Procedure 60
Scrambler Therapy 50"
In other words, the "sham" was MORE effective than the calmare!!!!
That's even WORSE than Dr. Campbell's results -- at least all he said was he couldn't tell any difference!
Loprinzi confirmed the results with a Mcnemar test that produced a "P Value" of "0.7630." That simply means that you cannot reject the "null hypothesis" of NO EFFECT due to the calmare treatment -- obvious enough since the sham and calmare produced nearly the same effects!
And what was the "adverse effect":
"Musculoskeletal/connective tissue disorder - achiness, fatigue and heaviness in bilateral lower legs"
Why, that sounds like it could be CRPS!! Calmare has the potential to induce CRPS???? Gasp! I wonder if that was reported to the FDA!
Gee, is Dr. Loprinzi presenting these "results" at ASCO?
If so, some people might want to rethink that "ASCO effect" business!
