I think the comment about Research is dead on. But that can also go hand and hand with your other list. There are plenty of times the market will take a good stock down to take out stops to turn around and run it up 20% higher then what you were taken out at. This is when knowing what to look for on the ticker comes into play. It is pretty easy to see when you see a stock getting bid wacked like crazy and yet big buys are coming in as the stock dips. I have seen to many times people get all nervous and give their shares away and then kick themselves at the end of the day.
