If you recall, the President was going to visit the Renewable Energy Research lab in CO. Secretary Bodman (the Energy secretary) had to move funds over the weekend (before the Pres got there) due to the fact that they had cut their funding the previous month and had to lay off ~30 workers. The Pres was going there to tout his energy goals and they are cutting the funding. The emergency restoration they did was only $5M. They had cut $32M. So the guys have their jobs back, but no money to do research.

And I have seen this happen in the reactor programs, the nuclear programs, the educational programs. They can say what they want and do something entirely different. If it does not affect the man on the street, who cares.

As far as grants, as I said, SBIR's are not an easy thing to get and if the government saw potential in Power Glass, they would have done the grant already to aid in the development.

We shall see what happens in the coming month.
